I STARTED THE MELBOURNE SKYLINE CLUB, NOW THE NIGHTWATCH CLUB, WHICH HAS SOME 800+ MEMBERS.

THE FUNCTIONS THAT ARE HELD INCLUDE MOVIES, DAYTRIPS, LUNCHEONS
AND MORE.

HISTORY

3AK 1116 fell silent on Sunday night 18th January, 2004

Friday 27th December, 2002 Leigh Drew sacked from 3AK. Re-instatement announced on Monday 21st January, 2003, by 3AK Broadcaster, Doug Aiton.
A 3 week turnaround .. a record I think!

An extraordinary back lash by listeners caused this 'back flip' by management and demonstrates how very, very popular Leigh Drew is ....

CONGRATULATIONS to all those who emailed, phoned and wrote to the station and the newspapers .... PEOPLE POWER DOES WORK!

Leigh Drew made a triumphant return to the ak airways on Monday 27th January, 2003. One of the Directors and owners of AK, Ron Hall, joined Leigh in a one hour of talk back, admitting he had made a mistake and was pleased that Leigh agreed to return.
